Season 2006/2007

Following our lads through their first season at the Emirates Stadium

Bolton 3-1 Arsenal

We hit the woodwork three times, but were chasing the game from the moment Faye headed Bolton in front in the ninth minute, and even after Gilberto Silva’s goal it was never going to be our day without Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie, William Gallas or Lauren.

With an average age being less than 23 for ten of our outfield players, I felt our motivation and experience was lacking.

As for Nicolas Anelka ending a 3½ month wait for his first Premiership goal for Bolton with a brace… as someone perfectly summarised on the radio phone later in that evening; What a wanker.
