A scintillating match which produced a brilliant display at Stamford Bridge from our almost under 21 side lacking Henry, Gallas and Toure amongst others.
Flamni put us 1-0 in the lead after 78 minutes with a goal created from a brilliant build up. However our lead last all but six minutes when Essien scored an absolute rocket of a goal (fair dues).
Cashley Cole gave a vintage display, highlighting just what a wasted talent he has allowed himself to become.
He deservedly picked up a yellow card after a hack at Hleb and proceeded to moan and generally behave like a spoilt kid seemingly fitting in perfectly at Chelsea. Our fans dished out fake £20 notes with his mug on it, which I’m sure he went around and collected at the end.
Anyway, Clichy put in a brilliant performance and illustrated that defensively it can be business as usual at Arsenal after Cole’s departure. There was an absolutely mad finish to the match where Chelsea struck the woodwork twice in stoppage time with our crazy goalkeeper Lehmann making a hash of things, but having the good fortune to get away with it.
There was also Lehmann and Drogba squaring up after Diving Drogba was up to his old tricks. He took a dive in the penalty box and his appeal was waved off at which point Lehman gave him the slightest of nudges which sent him flying - quite the joke with him falling over like a sack of potatoes. He got up and returned the complement which then sent our fruitcake of a goalie down – both earning themselves a yellow card, and hope some decent stick from the fellow players and managers (although I can somehow see Jose patting Drogba on the back…).
Adebayor on the other hand had a great game and looks to be gaining confidence with a good display of pace, power and astuteness.
