Season 2006/2007

Following our lads through their first season at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal 6-2 Blackburn

A brilliant finish with three goals in the last eight minutes gave us a great win. The match started very differently however with Blackburn taking the lead after only three minutes. They were awarded a penalty after Toure was judged to have fallen onto former goner David Bentley (bit of a soft decision really).

However, we did manage to come back to take a win after going behind, for a change, but still to go behind again to lets face it a mid/lower table team is just not good enough.

Captain Gilberto put in another solid performance and got our equalizer, heading in from a corner. Hleb scored our second and Adebayor cool-as-ice sent their keeper the wrong way to claim our third after we were awarded a penalty when Lucas Neil hacked Adebayor from behind.

Blackburn pulled back to 3-2 and for a while it looked very shaky, but we managed to hold our own and towards the final minutes of the match Van Persie claimed a brace and Fabregas created a simply stunning opportunity showing the sublime skill of a truly confident and world-class player allowing Flamini to poach a goal in the 90th minute.
