Ten man Gunners beat Blackburn to continue our brilliant start to the year.
Gilberto was shown a straight red card for flicking a leg out at Robbie Savage, but it didn’t really make much sense as Savage was only shown a yellow and clearly stamped on Gilberto first. Anyway, Kolo took all the worries away soon after by opened the scoring with a brilliant header off the post and in with Brad Friedel left looking. It truly was a brilliant effort as he ran the entire length of the pitch and was the only Arsenal player in the box. How he got so much higher than all the defenders only he know (guess he was wearing his Air Jordans’?).
Wind and rain was in abundance at Ewood Park, but we continued to play with composure even being a man down. Thierry sealed the win in the second half when he playing a one-two with Fabregas and unleashed an absolute belter into the top corner.
It was good to see ‘Mad’ Jens back in goal, he is a favourite of mine and he did all that was required when Morten Gamst Pedersen blasted on a shot, which Jens pushed over the bar. Robin Van Persie played well too, again.
The Arsenal team from a few months back might have lost their confidence and let the match slip away after Gilberto was sent off, but now we are showing a greater belief in ourselves, and the proof of this is in our results.
