Rosicky scores his first Premiership goal and completes yet another amazing comeback to take all three points in a heart-stopping match.
Wigan took the lead with a 35 yard, 85mph belter that gave even Lehmann no chance, although he did pull of a few tremendous saves later on in the match.
We looked uneasy after going behind and only the post stopped Emile Heskey from putting them 2-0 up. Thierry had a few chances but couldn’t quite make them, including what looked like a certain goal from six yards out - only for the shot to fire over the crossbar. Walcott lacked confidence in his play and put in a blow par performance, but give him one or two goals under his belt and I’m sure we will see what his capable of. Baptista played well, and clearly wants to make the most of the opportunity after his great recent accomplishments in the Carling Cup as did Clichy and Rosicky who twice went close in the first half.
However, a great deal more possession and attacking play in the second half resulted in an equaliser after Fitz Hall put in an own goal under pressure. Later in the second half we were fortunate not to give away a penalty after Heskey went down under a Flamini challenge – but some you get, some you don’t.
Adebayor was earlier unlucky not to grab an equaliser when he slotted through Kirkland's legs, only to be flagged for offside.
Then five minutes from time, a fantastic move ended with a brilliant Baptista cross for Rosicky to nod in, and give us the win.
It was a sensational match with Wigan playing exceptionally well but the winning result puts us fourth and closes the gap on Liverpool.
