The official word from Arsene is that he has been &quot;asked a lot about possible transfers in January but it is too early to answer that question. Credit to Villa, they played a great match even gaining a penalty in the first five minutes, but Manuel Almunia produced penalty save against Young.</div><div><br /></div><div>Brad Friedel saved well from Cesc Fabregas in the first half and Emmanuel Adebayor hit a post late - but this was way too little way too late. After the lads responded so well to all the criticism by beating Manchester United last Saturday, this really is a sucker punch and punishing to our self-belief.</div><div><br /></div><div>I&#39;ve said it before, and I&#39;ll say it again, Arsenal rely heavily on self-belief and without it we cannot produce the performances needed... a real shame after such a positive win against Man United when our backs were against the wall.</div><div><br /></div><div>We almost broke the deadlock after 15 minutes when Friedel saved from Fabregas and Curtis Davies needed to make a desperate clearance as the ball ran loose. The game continued in an open fashion after the break, and Arsene introduced Adebayor in place of Abou Diaby.</div><div><br /></div><div>Overall, this is a frustrating loss. After working so hard to get back some momentum, it feels like somebody has slammed on the brakes. He was terrible and I cannot wait &#39;til he packs his bags... January would not be too soon in my eyes. youngsters had a difficult game but came away with a 2-1 success over Barnet in our now familiar pre-season friendly.<br /><br />Our first half performance lacked luster and included many of the first-team players like Manuel Almunia, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy, Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner and a debut to &pound;5million Aaron Ramsey.<br /><br />However, Barnet opened the scoring and through Kenny Gillet, who beat Almunia down low at his near post... a bit worrying.<br /><br />The second half was played with 11 substitutes and two of those players managed to find the back of the net as Arsenal claimed a 2-1 success.<br /><br />Firstly Jay Simpson, who spent time with Millwall last season, finished off a fine move from eight yards out before teenage Dutch striker Nacer Barazite secured the win on 73 minutes. <br /><br />I believe Barazite has been a steady success in the reserves and now deserves a chance in the first team to prove his worth on the big stage - but will Arsene give him the chance this season?
